Divisional Playoffs

OK, It’s Divisional Playoff time!!  I’m going to run you through each game and pick the winners for you!  As you know, we finished a +38 units with out picks this year.  Our weekly picks were posted on the bottom of our home page at MaddenPlayersClub.com

Saints -3.5 @ 49ers

Look for the Saints to move the ball up and down the field, but in the end, the 49ers defense will produce turnovers and their offense will do :just enough” to pull out the cover!

Broncos +13.5 @ Patriots

OK, I must go on record with the whole Tebow thing. (everybody has an opinion so why shouldn’t I have one too?  LOL)  I like Tim Tebow.  he’s as “genuine” of a person as there is.  You will NEVER see this guy in the news for beating his wife or any bullshit like that.  With that said, he’s not even an average NFL QB and I feel that Tom Brady will destroy the Broncos on Saturday.  Look for Gronkowski to dominate the Broncos with Brian dawkins inactive for the game.

My Pick:  Patriots by 30!!!  (10 units)

Texans +7.5 @ Ravens

Repeat after me…..”THE TEXANS CAN RUN THE BALL ON ANYBODY”.  If you truly believe this, then the Texans will win (or at least cover) this game.  I happen to believe it.  Foster is GREAT.  He will win the battle with ray Rice and I’m steppin’ out to call the upset here.

My Pick: Texans by 3.  (10 units)

Giants +8  Packers

The Giants are one of the few teams that can put pressure on the QB while only rushing 4 men.  This is the reason why I like the Giants chances this week.  The other thing that the Giants have in their favor is that Aaron Rodgers hasn’t taken a snap in a game in 21 days.  Finally, Eli Manning set the record for the most 4th quarter TD Passes in NFL history!!!  Those 3 reasons tell me that the Giants have a punchers chance.

My Pick: Packers by 1.  (Giants cover) (10 units)

OK….I’m going to switch gears for a minute and talk about college hoops.  I have a few teams to really look out for in March.

The Kentucky Wildcats will continue to mature and will be a BEAST of a team in March.  Kidd-Gilchrist is going to be an absolute STUD.

The UNLV Running Rebels have played a tough road schedule this year and I look for them to be THE surprise team this year in March Madness.  They could even be a final 4 team!!!  Remember, you heard it here first!!

Now for the single most disappointing team of 2012……..drum roll please……..the North Carolina Tar Heels!!!  I have watched them play numerous times this year and they have absolutely NO INTEREST in playing defense.  This will NOT translate well come tourney time!!!  An early exit is pretty much a guaranteed proposition!!!!

Turkey Week!!!

It’s almost Turkey Day and I have a lot to be thankful for…..here’s my sports related list.  Obviously I have a lot of personal reasons to be thankful, but I’ll keep it in the sports world here.

#1- Brady Hoke – THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!   The “Michigan Man” has brought the program back to the national stage.  We have the #1 recruiting class in the nation coming in for next year and we already have a 5 star QB signed for the following year.  Things are looking up for the BLUE!

#2- Jay Cutler – watching this guy play just amazes me.  He DEFINITELY is one of the 5 best QB’s in the league.  It he has any time at all to throw he is absolutely DEADLY.

#3-Jessica Alba – OK, if you need to ask me why I’m thankful for her then you’re a HOMO!  LOL

#4- Denard Robinson – he’s the most exciting player in college football and if he played in the SEC he would be putting a Heisman in his trophy case this year.

#5- Bud Selig – baseball is going to add another wildcard team next year.  This is just going to make it even more exciting during the pennant chase every year.  Thank you!

I’m going to take a minute to give a shout out to the LSU football team.  While everybody else is underachieving and losing games they should be winning, you just keep churning out wins week in and week out.   Kudos!

On to the world of Madden.  I came across a cool franchise hosting site today.  It’s called xtreme-football.net   I gotta say that this site has their shit together.  They have found a way to sync your online franchise with their site and the league pages are sweet.  Check it out.
